horseflies are a constant nuisance, especially in the period May – October. When they feed on blood, their aggressive bites are considered very painful for animals, such as horses, cows, but it is not a pleasant feeling for humans either.

The HF-Magnet effectively controls the numbers of horsefly and will reduce it to an absolute minimum!

Tests show a 90-95% reduction rate of horsefly around the HF-Magnet can be realized! The horseflies mistake the centrally placed ball in the HF-Magnet, they see this as an animal or human and fly towards the ball.

Once they land on the black ball of the HF-Magnet, they start examining it and try to bite it. After this failed attempt, they will fly away from the ball. Because horseflies are vertical ascenders, they can only fly upwards.

The trap is designed so that they fly into the trap through a conical hood and are guided upward. At the top of the trap, they are then caught in the transparent collection tray.

Optimal use of the HF Magnet

Check the location to see if there are multiple HF-Magnet placements are needed*.
We recommend the HF-Magnet placed early in the season (April), but certainly before the adult horseflies hatch.
Check the funnel every week, clean it with soap and water if necessary.
Place the HF magnet near animals.
If the HF-Magnet does not capture enough, place the HF-Magnet to another position.
