Stomoxys calcitrans, commonly known as the stable fly, is an insect pest that has spread worldwide.

It occurs around mammals, such as cows and pigs, and is known to bite and suck their blood. This causes health and stress problems that lead to reduced meat and milk production.

This is a new outdoor trap, very effective for controlling stable flies.
And it works without the use of chemicals

The following basic steps should be followed to catch stable flies.

Place the Stomoxycc trap in the area outside where many stable flies are active.
Assemble the trap, which takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
Once set up, stable flies are attracted to the trap by the colored attraction panels, which reflect light.
When they come near, the light and warmth of the trap draw them in.
Once in the trap, the flies are directed to a centrally located collection bin, where escape is not an option.

Of an area up to 1,000 m2.

For best results, if there are stalls in the area, it is important to implement an active larval control program. This is the likely breeding ground and source of the adult flies.

An indoor larval control program, combined with the placement of Stomoxycc traps, establishes an integrated pest management system. This will lead to the gradual elimination of Stomoxys calcitrans in the area.
